Eligibility for the Gates Scholarship 2023 in the USA:
- The applicant must be a high school senior.
- The candidate must be an American citizen who belongs to one of the following ethnic groups: African-American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian or Pacific Islander, or Hispanic.
- The candidate must be a citizen, national, or legal resident of the US.
- A Pell-eligible applicant is required.
- There must be no additional grants or family support being provided to the candidate.
- Outstanding academic performance, or a GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, is required of applicants.
- The candidate must intend to enroll in an American four-year university.
