To join our Johannesburg team, VMLY&R SA is looking for a gifted copywriter with extensive agency expertise. In order to design and carry out successful campaigns, the ideal applicant will be able to captivate an audience with language and will work well with the creative and strategic teams. It is essential to combine meticulous attention to detail with unrestricted creative thought.

Responsibilities
  • Writing copy for a variety of mediums including, but not limited to, social media, print, outdoor, radio, television, web content, and other digital (which is becoming increasingly diverse).
  • Conceptualizing creative, brand-appropriate solutions to meet strategic goals based on client briefs.
  • Blue-sky concept brainstorming of proactive creative campaigns, both for existing and potential clients.
  • Communicating effectively with clients in pitching ideas and concepts, as well as working with feedback constructively.
  • An interest in and awareness of emerging trends in technology, advertising, and culture to inspire ground-breaking, innovative, and culturally relevant creative ideas.
  • Have the ability to create a tonality guide and copy guidelines for messaging across different business units.
  • Create copy for a large client that will require quick turnaround times.
  • Review campaigns and content plans for tone and copy quality.
Qualification
  • More than 2-3 years of agency experience.
  • Qualification in copywriting from a reputable educational institution is ideal
