Who Are We Looking For?

As the Senior Journalism Team Manager, you will assume a pivotal role in our dynamic media organization. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and mentor a team of skilled journalists, driving them towards producing high-impact content. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless creation, editing, and delivery of news pieces that resonate with our audience.

Key Duties and Accountabilities
  • Originate and create compelling narratives encompassing scripting, editing, filming, and presenting diverse content across various BBC platforms.
  • Source and curate pertinent materials, ensuring alignment with audience expectations and adherence to BBC editorial protocols.
  • Potentially engage in on-air reporting and film production, when necessary, for broadcast purposes.
  • Delegate tasks within the team, oversee progress, and uphold both staff expertise and output quality.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to the team, fostering innovation and aiding in overall site management, team coordination, financial matters, and strategic direction.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance workforce diversity and ensure alignment of our content with our audience diversity.
  • Demonstrate exceptional journalism within stipulated timelines, optimizing available resources. • Act as a change catalyst, effectively disseminating best practices among teams.
  • Maintain impeccable editorial standards while meeting stringent deadlines.
  • Consistently adhere to BBC health and safety guidelines while performing all duties.
