Job Title: Assistant Brand Manager
What You can do for us
To assist the Manager and Brands Group in carrying out the brand’s yearly activity plans, which must achieve the brand’s annual performance goals (awareness, equity, volume, market share, etc.) among its target consumers, on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure the correct and efficient field execution of the brand’s authorized marketing initiatives, including below-the-line and sampling campaigns. Measure performance against activity goals in accordance with the Manager, Brands Group’s instructions. Work closely with the Sales function’s Trade/Customer Marketing unit on the creation, implementation, and assessment of trade promotions for the brand.
- Report on brand performance and health on a regular basis by compiling consumer research, doing frequent trade trips to acquire market data, and monitoring rival activity in the category. Help the Brands Group Manager create response plans to safeguard the brand’s standing.
- Monitor expenditure against agreed activities and provide regular reports to the Manager, Brands Group.
- Timely execution of below-the-line activities for the brand; production of activity evaluations to capture learnings.
- Accountable for overseeing the budget set aside for the brand’s BTL operations.
Qualification
- Minimum second-class Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university, either in Nigeria or abroad.
- 1-2 years of experience working in the marketing or sales departments of a respectable business, or in an advertising or promotion agency with clients from several countries.
Additional Experience
- Understands the role of different elements of the marketing mix.
- Development and execution of trade/ customer promotions and POS material
- Numerate and capable of controlling spending within previously agreed-upon budgets
- Able to organize work to finish projects by the deadline and gather pertinent data and information for brand reports and activity evaluations from a variety of sources.
- Working in teams
- Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel; PowerPoint would be an advantage) or Open Office.
- Possess both vocal and written articulation
- Able to communicate with a variety of people and roles.
