The Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI) is a global leadership initiative that develops the next generation of leaders to support sub-Saharan Africa’s development. The AAI is an academic leadership program with full funding that strives to give orphaned kids the chance to pursue higher education at prestigious institutions throughout the globe.

The AAI offers access to complete financial support, including tuition, accommodation, travel expenses, and other essential fees, to study at a university overseas (equivalent to an undergraduate degree).
Eligibilities:
The application is open to those who;
- Have lost one or both parents.
- Have completed secondary school and received their final exam results within the last two years (any date after August 2, 2020, including all of 2020 and 2021), or will have completed secondary school and received final exam results before February 28, 2023 (technical and vocational degrees not accepted).
- Possess citizenship and have finished or are finishing high school in one of the several African nations.
- Must have been born after 1st September 2000.
- Lack the financial means to attend a university overseas without outside assistance.
- Be proficient in English, French , or Portuguese.
- Throughout their final two or three years of secondary school, consistently rank in the top 10% of their class.
- Can participate in the two preparatory programmes organized by the platform.
- Committed to going home or to Sub-Saharan Africa after college and making a contribution to the local community there.
- Have no reliants that might impede your academic development.
- Possess a health status that allows for study abroad.
Note:
- Students who want to pursue a master’s degree or a second degree cannot apply to the AAI.
