Job Description

Reporting to the global head of governance, risk, and compliance, this job supports the legal, risk, and compliance function. The duty of the head of internal compliance platforms is to take the lead in evaluating and supervising all compliance concerns across compliance platforms inside the compliance frameworks for fraud, transaction monitoring, and sanctions. This entails identifying compliance issues, investigating internal and external platform solutions, testing suggested options, deciding which is best, implementing Engineering initiatives, and continuously monitoring platform solutions deployed across numerous jurisdictions, including Africa, North America, and Europe.

To make sure the implemented compliance platforms are in line with internal policies, procedures, structures, and controls for the business, the Head of Internal Compliance Platforms will work closely with the Global Head of Governance and the CCO.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the effectiveness, security, and efficiency of the present compliance solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop a cost-benefit analysis and explore alternative platform solutions.
  • Engage Senior Leadership effectively to secure resources for planned initiatives
  • Acquire knowledge of the platforms’ use by investigations analysts.
  • Identify platform flaws, problems, and enhancement requests, then submit product request documents to engineering for fix
  • Work with our stakeholders and business owners to match compliance platforms to overall business goals, enabling operations in a practical approach.
  • Create, execute, and maintain platform training programs that inform end users about how to use, navigate, and use the platform.
  • Work together with the appropriate teams to oversee the rollout of new platforms and boost the effectiveness of those that are already in place.
  • Determine platform compliance control gaps connected with them, and be in charge of the documentation, user acceptance testing, and implementation of suggested remedies.
  • Create a compliance platform RFP process.
  • Manage the privacy engineering backlog and JIRA board.
  • Conduct recurring assessments of the third-party platform vendor’s compliance with the regulations.
Qualification
  • Economics or business administration bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree is recommended
  • 5+ years of experience in conducting case management, investigations, or transaction monitoring
  • A track record of producing project management outputs that are in line with corporate goals
  • CFE, ACAMS, or another professional designation in the compliance framework is recommended.
  • Having the maturity and good project management skills to drive, lead, and manage audit assignments
  • Regulatory reporting software expertise and solid case management knowledge (preferably Hummingbird).
Additional Expertise
  • UAT execution experience that has been demonstrated, knowledge of both the Agile and Waterfall UAT methodology
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Strong capacity for problem-solving
  • An advantage would be having knowledge of compliance (AML/CTF) and operational risk in the financial services, payment processing, e-commerce, or cryptocurrency industries.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed to create internal networks within the team and the company as a whole. Senior management should also be able to clearly define business risks and controls.
