Who We Need:

Joining Okra at this moment is fantastic. In order to advance our engineering department, we need a seasoned leader. As the Head of Engineering, it will be your job to lead a global engineering team made up of our core infrastructure, data infrastructure, core services, core product, customer engineering, cloud infrastructure, and QA teams in making excellent technical judgment and decision-making that accurately anticipates future scalability and reliability challenges.

This highly important position will continuously review client needs and look for chances to create world-class products that enable more individualized financial services.

Responsibilities

Create and nurture an exceptional, high-performing team of leaders and engineers who will be in charge of designing, implementing, and maintaining our core services.
Create and control a product strategy and roadmap for infrastructure that enables our clients to expand through innovation.
Build effective cross-functional relationships with a range of organizations, including key stakeholders and team leads across Okra.
Establish success indicators that gauge the operational health, performance, efficacy, and efficiency of the products the team.
Maintain these metrics and report on them on a regular basis.
Show an aptitude for hands-on technical depth that permits direct supervision, problem-solving leadership, and control of the deployment of complicated infrastructure and operational troubleshooting.
Significantly influence upcoming revisions of the Okra product
Prioritize tasks ruthlessly in light of the resources at hand, their severity, and the desired effects on the bottom line.
Ensure launches meet strict deadlines, are of the highest quality, and can support mission-critical enterprise and consumer needs.
Together with the executive team, communicate the engineering vision, roadmap, and progress to stakeholders in a way that is clear and concise.

Qualification

Must have led technical teams that have produced market-leading products, and you are known for setting high standards, so you will have experienced what outstanding looks like.
Own a proven track record of creating software solutions and seeing them through to widespread adoption.
Have 10+ years of relevant experience, 5+ years of which have been spent as the head of a team of 20+ engineers.
10+ years of combined technical experience, with in-depth technical expertise in managing a variety of local and cloud-based topologies with a focus on cloud infrastructure.
Be able to prove your capacity to lead, and inspire.
Have a track record of establishing and directing engineering strategy in conjunction with product priorities and objectives.
Possess ability to unite people and inspire them to work toward a set of tactics and objectives.
Experience in both consumer-grade applications and infrastructure leadership.

Managing products, budgets, and defending resource requirements to top leaders and financial partners for at least five years.
Prior experience and track record of innovative thinking combined with a strong customer focus, delivering technical solutions in high-growth contexts.
A preference for action and execution, the capacity to work in demanding sprints, and quick productive cycles.
Future-focused strategist with a track record of successfully converting strategies into tactical plans with excellent execution and delivery.
