VisionSpring, a groundbreaking social enterprise, is in search of a dynamic HR & Administration Manager. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in executing HR policies and procedures while ensuring seamless office operations at VisionSpring Nigeria. Your responsibilities encompass managing the complete employee life cycle for our African team, serving as the primary contact for all HR queries.

This position reports to the Global HR Director in the United States and the Africa Region Director in Lagos, Nigeria. Join us in shaping a better world through HR excellence.

Key Duties and Accountabilities
Human Resources:
  • Craft a unique HR strategy tailored to the African market, facilitating its sustained growth.
  • Collaborate with global HR team members to establish and uphold Local Employee Handbooks in African countries, ensuring alignment with local labor standards and global HR norms.
  • Assure timely contract renewals for consultants and meticulous maintenance of associated paperwork.
  • Address general inquiries from managers and employees, guiding them towards relevant policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with Global HR personnel to ensure consistent adherence to global HR policies.
  • Maintain localized HR data within our Paylocity system for Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia.
  • Provide training to department Heads and team members on the performance management system, ensuring annual performance appraisals align with the Global schedule.
  • Offer support to the Global HR Director in the development and execution of projects as needed.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of VisionSpring-related information and maintain compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with the Global Learning and Development department to coordinate tailored training for African team members.
  • Strictly adhere to Company Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy at all times.
Recruitment:
  • Cultivate a compelling recruitment brand to attract top-tier talent to the organization.
  • Contribute to regional recruitment efforts, bolstering VisionSpring’s presence in local markets for career opportunities.
  • Ensure a consistently positive onboarding and orientation experience for new hires, including the establishment of a training center.
Administrative:
  • Ensure punctual processing of payroll, and oversee attendance and leave management.
  • Manage staff insurance coverage and facilitate the settlement of insurance claims.
  • Oversee all aspects of staff documentation, including entry and exit formalities.
  • Develop processes to ensure compliance with local regulations and VisionSpring policies, strictly adhering to all HR-related compliances.
  • Regularly update existing policies and procedures and introduce new ones as needed.
  • Maintain and update the HRMS.
  • Supervise day-to-day administrative functions, ensuring compliance with VisionSpring policies, legal requirements, and statutory obligations.
  • Provide supplementary support to the Africa Region Director and the African Country Teams as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources and Administration; a Master’s Degree is highly preferred.
  • 7-8 years of pertinent professional experience.
  • Essential prior experience in HR management.
  • Proficient in HR budgeting.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor and employment laws in our African operational areas.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills suitable for diverse environments.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Adaptable, resourceful, and capable of excelling under tight timelines.
  • Demonstrates a strong dedication to stakeholder satisfaction and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Outstanding communication aptitude, adept at teamwork, and resilient in high-pressure scenarios.
  • Skilled in data analysis, collection, and management.
  • Self-reliant, resourceful, problem-solving abilities, with a good-humored and flexible disposition.
  • Exhibits autonomy, efficiency, and reliability while consistently meeting high standards and deadlines.
