Who Are We Looking For?
We are a globally expanding company with a presence in 70 countries and a team of 1,000 professionals. To support our growth, we are seeking three regional leaders who will report directly to our Global Head of People. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our HR function and shape its future. As a regional lead, you will oversee the HR operations of the Americas, APAC, or EMEA region, ensuring compliance, scalability, and precision. You will play a vital role in advising and implementing HR strategies throughout the entire employee life-cycle, while collaborating closely with senior leadership in your region. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze data trends will be key in this role.
Responsibilities
- Ensure precise and compliant HR operations, emphasizing accuracy and timeliness
- Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition and Workplace Engineering teams, establishing streamlined processes across HR regions
- Lead and expand Canonical’s regional HR team, managing 1-4 direct reports per region
- Collaborate with senior managers on performance management, organizational design, employee engagement, rewards, and workforce planning
- Take responsibility as HR manager for key processes, including talent development, succession planning, performance assessments, onboarding, culture, and engagement initiatives to foster high-performance teams
- Partner with people managers to facilitate appropriate training and development programs
- Cultivate a trusted partnership with the business within your region
- Provide coaching and guidance to people managers on employee relations matters across multiple countries
- Develop new policies and lead critical global HR projects
- Drive initiatives for diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Represent Canonical at events, effectively communicating Canonical’s HR practices
Qualification
- Successful track record in leading HR initiatives across Americas or EMEA regions within the technology industry
- Proven experience in managing and developing people
- Skilled in business partnering with senior stakeholders
- Degree qualified with strong HR expertise
- Utilizes data-driven insights for decision-making
- Ability to balance leadership and execution, actively involved in daily HR operations
- Extensive knowledge and practical application of HR practices and employment law in EMEA or Americas
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events
- Self-motivated, organized, accurate, confident, authentic, results-oriented, open-minded, enthusiastic, and energetic
- Proficient in working within a remote-first organization
- Fluent in written and spoken business English
Additional Requirements
- Possess a recognized professional HR qualification (CIPD/SHRM or equivalent)
- In-depth knowledge of immigration policies and expertise in mobility processes
- Well-versed in providing guidance and advice on immigration-related matters
- Proven ability to coordinate and liaise with relevant stakeholders in immigration and HR domains.
- Proficient in facilitating effective communication and collaboration
