Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a communications leader who will help our communications team drive awareness, affinity and engagement for the NewGlobe organization, and, of equal importance, the eight (and counting!) government programs spanning the globe for which we are their technical partner.

Your mission entails spearheading an impactful, economically viable, and enduring education initiative, fostering transformative growth for children and empowering duty bearers.

Tasks & Obligations
  • Aid government in digital content strategies for communication.
  • Lead government communication team and program with a focus on effective strategies.
  • Formulate impactful global and local communication approaches for program promotion.
  • Manage media relations and foster valuable media connections.
  • Secure prominent media coverage through compelling story pitches.
  • Forge strategic communication partnerships to enhance program impact.
  • Serve as a program representative in diverse local and national platforms.
  • Spearhead communication efforts for a state-wide government education initiative.
  • Foster strong advocacy collaborations with national and international allies.
  • Craft persuasive press materials, pitches, and articles.
  • Identify and leverage emerging media trends and news opportunities.
  • Drive internal communication campaigns to amplify program reach.
  • Assess and gauge communication campaign outcomes.
  • Collaborate within Nigeria’s communication cluster to align program and group strategies.
Qualification
  • Experience managing a large team of communications professionals, ideally geographically distributed
  • Strong track record of communications work in Sub-Saharan Africa and/or Southern Asia
  • Direct experience managing political campaigns and/or government program campaigns preferred
  • Experience developing and delivering comprehensive media strategies and campaigns, with a bias toward digital properties
  • Experience working within, and managing teams in a globally matrixed organization
  • Direct experience managing crisis communications
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in progressively larger scope people and project management positions
  • A strong portfolio of either pitched and placed media coverage
