POSITION OVERVIEW

To supervise and carry out all of EAI’s activities in Nigeria, the Senior Program Manager will collaborate with the Country Director. The design, execution, and community involvement of the program will be under the senior program manager’s control. In order to promote sustainability, s/he will work with partners to ensure that EAI is providing high-quality programming to communities all across Nigeria. The position has direct reports

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the development and production of content for EAI’s multi-media programming, including but not limited to radio, social media, and television. You will also make sure that existing programmatic workplans are followed, deliverables adhere to EAI’s exacting quality standards, and all donor-funded activities are carried out in accordance with all donor and EAI policies and procedures.
  • Create a Growth Strategy for the Equal Access International Nigeria Country Office in collaboration with the corporate headquarters by working with the country director.
  • Establish cooperative working relationships with local, state, and federal government officials as well as foreign and domestic non-governmental groups.
  • Maintain programming quality by making sure that project deliverables are completed and presented on time, in the correct format, and in accordance with the stringent criteria set by EAI.
  • Find and record effective replication-ready best practices and lessons learned, and help program staff incorporate them into their work, all while assuring fast, accurate, and expert monitoring and evaluation of our work.
  • To ensure that quality standards and donor expectations are met, take the lead in the development, compilation, and final reporting of all Equal Access International activities.
  • Give direction in administering several programs from various funders and program staff members that are dispersed throughout a large area.
  • Continue to find options for revenue generation through sponsorship, investment, and advertising that will have an impact and integrate programs and activities; keep in touch with both bilateral and multilateral donors ( including USG, Foundations, DFID, EU and others).
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in an area related to international development, business, social sciences, or communication (a Post Graduate degree will be an added advantage).
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 8 years progressively challenging international development experience
  • A minimum of five years of experience managing, leading, or supervising a team of donors in international donor-funded initiatives.
  • Significant working knowledge of Nigerian communities, especially in Northern Nigeria.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of and practical experience in Nigerian community resilience, gender, and/or security programming.
  • Experience working on women’s, peace and security projects, early warning systems, or early response systems is a distinct advantage.
  • An advantage is having prior media and advocacy programming expertise.
  • A track record of working with external funders, manufacturers, suppliers, sponsors, investors, and other partners to coordinate
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • For the purpose of efficiently presenting information, excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Ability to lead, create, and deliver proposals.
  • Extensive familiarity with Nigeria’s development programming, institutions, and donor community.
  • Strong creative and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and managerial abilities, including the capacity to multitask, manage teams to deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cultural awareness are necessary for interactions with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Effortless multitasking between many jobs, the capacity to think creatively and propose novel ideas
  • knowledge of editing tools such as Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools, as well as MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, desire to take on responsibility and initiative, and capacity for teamwork
  • Have good time management skills, especially when working under pressure.
  • Able to undertake travel to the project locations as required.
  • Strong work ethic, impeccable integrity and sense of accountability
