Who Are We Looking For?
As the Senior UX Manager for Ubuntu, you will lead the enhancement of desktop user experience. You’ll engage closely with the Ubuntu desktop user community to explore novel features and enhancements. Partnering with product managers and engineers, you’ll actively shape the trajectory of Ubuntu desktop. Craft exceptional web and desktop interactions for Ubuntu, while advancing and advocating for design systems that foster uniformity and efficiency. You’ll offer guidance to the design squad, ensuring alignment with product strategy and optimal practices. Your involvement within the open-source community will drive feature and design assimilation. Manage a team of UX designers with a focus on elevating Canonical’s developer experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Engage with the Ubuntu desktop user community to explore novel features and enhancements
- Partner with product strategists and engineers to influence the trajectory of Ubuntu desktop
- Craft exceptional desktop and web experiences for Ubuntu users
- Develop and promote design systems fostering uniformity and effectiveness
- Lead the design unit, ensuring cohesion with product strategy and optimal methodologies
- Interface with the open-source community to foster feature and design assimilation
- Supervise a team of UX designers dedicated to enhancing Canonical’s developer experience
Qualification
- Exceptional scholastic achievements throughout schooling and higher education
- Attainment of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in User Experience, Design, or STEM
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and expertise in user experience, technology, and design
