Job Detailing

This role supports Chipper Cash’s Legal, Risk, and Compliance Function and reports to the Head of Quality Assurance, Controls, and Testing, who develops and supervises AML/CFT and Sanctions assurance testing, Risk management, and strategic compliance issues.

As a member of the Legal, Risk, and Compliance team, you will actively identify, evaluate, and provide advice on internal controls and quality assurance testing for Chipper in order to support Chipper’s expansion. You will have a broad mandate to help the global head of financial crime and DMLRO review, develop, and implement the company’s continual testing of internal controls, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head of Quality Assurance, Controls, and Testing to oversee the ongoing development of the controls testing framework and business as usual testing while leading a team of controls testing analysts across many jurisdictions.
  • Create internal controls testing policies and procedures, as well as improve the current controls testing methodology.
  • Create guidelines for controls testing for different LRC workflows, such as workflows for transaction monitoring, watchlist screening, and onboarding and KYC; communicating controls testing findings in a timely manner to senior LRC management.
  • Based on the findings of the testing, suggest and apply modifications to the current controls architecture within the LRC.
  • Ascertain that risks are effectively handled, accurately reported, and escalated to the department head as necessary.
  • Ensure that the LRC structures and systems’ required controls and risk mitigation measures are found, put into place, and documented.
  • When necessary, assist with third-party and independent testing and audit requests.
Qualification
  • Four years minimum of experience
  • at least a bachelor’s degree. A doctorate is a plus. Professional certification(s) from organizations pertinent to the financial services industry are advantageous.
  • Experience performing in a second line capacity or similar control function in a financial services organization or at a consulting firm, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of interacting with regulators and internal business partners while working in the fintech industry.
  • Broad understanding experience assisting with examinations, control reviews, document preparation, risk and gap analysis, and issue resolutions.
