Who Are We Looking For?

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the execution of the Glacier Distribution and Sales Strategy while prospecting, sourcing, developing, and maintaining a specialized Investment Intermediary portfolio, as well as growing and/or maintaining Sanlam Group’s market share of retail investment business from this portfolio. All nearby areas including Pretoria will be serviced by this position.

Responsibilities
  • To provide support for a clientele of Glacier intermediaries that already exists
  • To source and introduce new Intermediaries to Glacier
  • To support and collaborate with all the relevant Sanlam Connect Distribution Channels structures 
  • To attract new business and increase retention of existing investment business    
  • Ensure that lucrative annual sales volumes and monthly targets are fulfilled.
  • Ensure intermediaries follow all regulatory requirements (e.g. FAIS, FICA. POPIA)
  • To create and carry out a regional business strategy for the Glacier Sales Channel (sales volumes, investment education and training, marketing and client services – administration)
  • Putting in place a model of intermediary assistance to enable effective and efficient support between the Distribution Channels, the Adviser / Broker, and the numerous Sanlam Group product and service providers
  • To provide the intermediary and intermediary support staff with training, education, and development on all Glacier and Sanlam Single Premium Investment Solutions (Local | International | Life | DFM Platforms).
  • To assist and instruct users on how to use Glacier’s digital tools and strategies, including the Web and Investment Hub.    To provide reliable information on investments, products, funds, services, and investors
      
Qualification
  • Degree or Diploma with 5 to 6 years of work experience.
  • Relevant experience in finance or investing.
  • At least 5 years in a financial distribution environment (Linked Service Provider and/or Investment Management Company)
  • supporting and advancing intermediary methods (Sanlam Advisers and IFA)
  • Demonstrated sales success and track record
  • Technical expertise in the retail investment sector and in retail investing
  • Possess a functioning vehicle and a valid drivers license
