Job Description Summary
Responsibilities:
- The Customer Development Manager is in charge of exceeding sales goals through superior point-of-sale performance.
- By cultivating relationships and negotiating with Store Operations/in-store staff, develop and support the partnership between CP and the customer(s)/Distributors at the store and regional level.
- Give input on the retail environment that enables quick adjustments to competitive strategies. To ensure profitable growth, the Customer Development Manager is essential.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with important stakeholders in the channel or with the customer(s) at the regional and/or retail level.
- Conducting talks at the regional office and/or store level as necessary (listings, planograms, displays, promotion execution, etc.).
- Implementing and maintaining in-store strategies created in collaboration with customers under category management (s)
- In collaboration with the Shopper Development Manager, coordinate special events (store-level sell-in and communication, materials management in-store, etc.).
- Working with customer service to track orders, troubleshoot and achieve customer service KPI’s.
- Planning, analyzing, and predicting consumer demands while collaborating with logistics to assure prompt and comprehensive delivery.
- Monitoring sales and distribution performance, particularly for new products and taking timely action to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitoring competitor activity at the store level, documenting and compiling significant activities, monitoring distribution speed and breadth, finding competition best practices, and discussing with the BDM so they can proactively respond with tactical/strategic adjustments.
- Creation of annual promotional grids and account cooperative activity
- Regular promotional analysis to find out if these actions are generating profitable returns.
- Regular store visits to look for opportunities for improvement
- Monitoring performance in relation to goals, giving ongoing coaching and feedback, and performing data-based evaluations.
- Reviewing the responsibilities and locations of Field Sales and Merchandiser itineraries (location, frequency, and length vs. plan) to ensure effective use of scarce resources.
- Giving in-store employees (merchandisers) instructions and seeing to it that they receive training and updates on new products, promotions, and merchandising goals.
- Identifying training needs and developing training plans with the Team Leader.
- Collaborating with the SDM to create resources, marketing materials, and in-store initiatives for efficient shelf management to persuade customers to buy Colgate products at the shelf.
- Monitoring the consistent and accurate data collection to enable target and 5P performance monitoring. Retail Compliance
- In-store goals must be clearly communicated, and 5P targets, product availability, assortment per store format, shelf pricing (regular and promoted), promotion implementation versus plan, share of shelf and planograms, and POP placement vs plan must be closely monitored.
- Addressing operational problems in-store, at regional/head offices
Required Qualifications :
- A Bachelor’s degree
- Experience managing FMCG customer accounts for at least three years
