The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is looking for a Procurement and Logistics Associate to assist with the daily tasks associated with purchasing goods and services for the GAIN Nigeria offices. Depending on funding, this position will be available on a three-year fixed-term contract. Your home base will be in Nigeria’s Abuja.

The position holder will be expected to collaborate closely with the country office’s project managers, country management team, and finance and operations team, as well as to offer technical procurement support for all procurement activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Making plans for purchasing goods, services, and equipment for the office and projects, and keeping track of the procurement process
  • Coordinating the procurement monitoring system and providing accurate and timely information on the procurement status to the program and management team
  • Assessing possible suppliers and keeping in touch with current vendors and suppliers in a professional manner
  • Assuring that all purchases are managed, controlled, and recorded in conjunction with the Office Assistant, maintaining proper documentation systems.
  • Monitoring and updating supplier data, including qualifications, supplier quality evaluations, delivery dates, product ranges, etc., as well as keeping suppliers’ databases with pricing lists for various products
  • Helping the teams from the country offices create the specs, bill of quantities, and TORs for the goods, materials, and services they need to purchase.
  • Recording, analyzing, and, where necessary, creating bid analyses, purchase orders, and contract agreements.
  • You will be working with clearing agents, pertinent government partners, and prompt processing and follow-up of pertinent government exemptions, completing timely customs clearance of goods
Qualification
  • The position holder should have solid numerical skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.).
  • Have a degree in business management, accounting, procurement, purchasing and supply chain management, management, or a related profession.
  • It would be advantageous for the candidate if they have an MBA or another equivalent professional qualification in supply chain management.
  • Applicants must be currently based in the Abuja, Nigeria region to be eligible to apply for this position.

  • Excellent communication skills and negotiation skills. 
Salary Range

The starting salary on offer for this role is from NGN 6,897,828 – NGN 7,876,788 (gross) per annum, depending on experience.
