What You’ll Do For Us

Working with a cross-functional team, you will manage implementing partners, such as vendors, agencies, and NGO partners, as you carry out the programs. You will manage the program budget, produce and maintain reports on the program’s performance, keep an eye on the program on the ground, and be open to opportunities to further develop our strategy in these two nations. To carry out the plans under each specific pillar, you will collaborate locally with coworkers in business and outside partners.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Cocoa Life program’s execution.
  • Control spending budgets
  • Field-level implementation quality control.
  • Through presence on the ground and open communication, develop trust with the communities you are working with and your implementing partners.
  • Risk management and Early warning system
  • Delivering updates and coordinating with the international team and other Cocoa Life country teams
  • Take the lead on the quarterly proof of performance process with partners.
  • Track development, assess results, and compare data against KPIs (volume, sustainability deliverables)
  • Contribute to the procedures of developing strategies and making strategic plans.
  • Determine and suggest new prospects for nations, particularly in relation to new climate-smart production models and enhanced supply chains. 
  • Watch for policy alignment
  • Facilitate communication, establish connections, and make sure information is flowing between all implementing partners and the neighborhood BU.
  • Leading in-country visits from IPSOS and Flocert
  • Build solid relationships with regional and national venues to strengthen the Cocoa Life Program in Nigeria and Cameroon.
  • Attend relevant chocolate sustainability roundtables and represent MDLZ there, especially with regard to the regulation of the industry.
Qualification
  • University degree
  • Over a decade of experience in the cocoa industry in West Africa
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in English, with French knowledge as an added advantage

Bonus Requirements

  • Proficient in business logistics
  • In-depth knowledge of farmer income, forest protection, and restoration, and human rights
  • Regular travel to upcountry Nigeria, Cameroon, and other relevant locations (50% of the time)
