Position Overview
We are dedicated to maintaining high standards of governance and organizational growth. To this end, we are in search of a seasoned Senior HR Manager to strengthen our human resources operations, manage corporate compliance, and foster board relations. This role aims to streamline HR processes while ensuring compliance with corporate regulations and building strong relationships with the board, contributing to overall organizational success. Key Responsibilities
- Administer all recruitment activities, from job advertisements to candidate screening, interviews, contract negotiations, and onboarding processes.
- Supervise performance management systems, focusing on staff evaluations and performance enhancement strategies.
- Develop and deploy HR services to boost employee retention, satisfaction, and overall workplace experience.
- Maintain and update HR databases covering employee information, contracts, benefits, and performance records.
- Lead and mentor junior HR and administrative personnel.
- Execute specialized projects, such as workforce planning and leadership development programs, as required.
- Design and enforce HR policies and procedures aligned with legal requirements and MOWAA’s mission.
- Provide training sessions for employees on policies, regulations, and best industry practices.
- Respond to employee inquiries about organizational policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Create crisis management strategies and guide the team during compliance violations or emergencies.
Additional Tasks
- Create a Comprehensive Compliance Program
Design and implement a complete legal and regulatory compliance program to meet all relevant standards and requirements. - Implement Internal Controls
Establish robust internal controls and continuously monitor compliance to ensure consistent application across the organization. - Draft and Update Policies
Draft and update organizational policies to comply with industry standards, incorporating insights from relevant MOWAA and external experts. - Review Contracts for Risks
Examine contracts for potential risks, and suggest risk mitigation strategies to ensure the organization’s safety. - Conduct Proactive Audits
Perform regular audits to detect and address process weaknesses before they become significant issues. - Oversee Tax and Regulatory Filings
Manage the filing of tax, legal, and regulatory documents, including annual reports, to ensure compliance with all deadlines and requirements.
Qualification
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nigeria’s labour laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
- A successful track record in human resources management, corporate compliance, and board relations, ideally within the non-profit sector.
- Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) software.
