USAID’s Youth-Powered Ecosystem for Urban Adolescent Health (YPE4AH) is scouting for a Program officer that will be responsible for delivering technical expertise and facilitating the execution and organization of program initiatives. Additionally, the role will necessitate contributing to work plan development, providing team and management support for budget adherence, and establish and nurture connections with local communities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing project implementation plans, training materials, and standard operational procedures.
- Build and maintain partnerships with program partners (non-profits, federal agencies, community organizations) to expand resources, raise funding, and promote project awareness.
- Support the development and monitoring of annual work plans, program initiatives, and budgets, including coordinating the YPE4AH project’s result framework.
- Assist partners in preparing and submitting detailed reports on project activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Aid in effective project management, coordination, and financial management, including data management and implementation procedures.
- Participate in project monitoring, supervision, and community engagement activities.
- Collaborate with DAI Nigeria’s Strategic Communications team to manage and produce program content for the website and other activities.
- Support the writing and management of annual, quarterly, and government reports.
- Provide support for all program activities at the state office.
- Assist in mobilizing support from private partners for project activities.
- Collect data for monitoring, evaluation, learning, and research purposes.
- Represent the YPE4AH Health project at meetings, working groups, and relevant forums.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional work experience on a U.S Government funded project (preferred)
- Proven project management skills: budget development, event planning, and coordination of multiple partners and stakeholders
- Proficiency in writing technical reports
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; fluency in English is essential
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
Additional Requirement
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and resourcefulness
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Fluency in local language (an advantage)
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to diverse demographics (Lagos or Kano)
- Fluency in the English language is required. Knowledge of the Hausa language is an advantage.
